Joe Valente, President

Joe started his career as a technician for a Building Automation company where he ultimately became the Head of the Engineering group, responsible for all design and training activities. He went on to join Precision Screen Machine as an Electrical Designer. As the business grew, Joe’s role evolved to Chief Electrical Engineer, where he was responsible for design activities on forty different standard and custom screen printing machines.

In 1986 Joe founded MCS Electrical Contracting, Inc. Shortly thereafter, the business naturally evolved into Control Systems Integration and MCS Automation was formed. For over 25 years, Joe has served as President and CEO providing his expertise to the many diverse and interesting projects that MCS has been engaged in. These systems have ranged from a small test stand for testing baseball gloves to the very critical baggage handling systems that process screened passenger luggage. He has provided his design, programming and installation expertise to a wide range of customers in the pharmaceutical, food, transportation, machinery and retail distribution industries.

Darrin Valente, Vice President

Darrin is a seasoned Technologist with a diverse Software Development and Technical Management background. He began his career as a Technology Consultant for one of the “Big Five” consulting firms in 1999. Following that experience, he spent the next 6 years focused on Client/Server and Web App Development for the Insurance / Risk Management field both as a developer and development manager.

In 2006 he left the world of Corporate Software Development to pursue a new career in the Industrial Automation field, joining MCS Automation as the VP of Engineering.

He has become an expert in the design and development of automated Airport Baggage Handling systems and Materials Handling systems, among other things. Darrin have overall design responsibility for the entire Electrical Control System – including the Electrical Design, Control Panel Fabrication & Testing, PLC Software design/development/testing, HMI/Monitoring/Reporting system design/development/testing.
